Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort Review & Private Airport Transfers
Commitment from Max Bui: All accommodation fees, dining expenses, and transportation costs during this stay were fully self-funded 100%. This review is conducted independently to provide honest and objective travel insights to our international readers, with absolutely no sponsorship or endorsement from the resort.
Arriving at North Phu Quoc after a long flight, the refreshing sea breeze carrying the scent of the ocean instantly clears the mind. For this trip, our family chose to stay at Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort for a 3-day 2-night getaway in May 2026 to deliver a comprehensive, firsthand review. Sheraton Phu Quoc (formerly known as Vinpearl Resort and Golf) is now under the premium management of Marriott International, bringing world-class hospitality and standardized services to the pristine coast of Ganh Dau. It is an ideal sanctuary for families, couples, and MICE groups looking to experience 5-star tropical luxury.
Airport Transfer Journey from Phu Quoc Airport to North Island
Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort is located in the Ganh Dau area, approximately 32 kilometers from Phu Quoc Airport. Driving along the DT975 highway through the island takes about 50 to 55 minutes. Given the nearly 1-hour transit time, picking the right vehicle is crucial to ensure a relaxing start to your vacation, especially for families with toddlers or senior members.
To guarantee a smooth journey, we booked a private airport transfer with MGM Phu Quoc. Upon arrival, the MGM driver welcomed us at Arrivals Gate Column 4, holding a professional name sign. Waiting at Column 4 is much more peaceful than the crowded central taxi zones. The driver assisted us with our heavy luggage and guided us to our vehicle.
MGM operates a modern fleet of 16-seater Ford Transit vans featuring excellent suspension that absorbs road bumps, comfortable seats, and powerful air-conditioning. Our local driver was polite, am-ready, and shared helpful travel tips along the route. Choosing a private transfer with MGM provides peace of mind and keeps your energy levels high for the resort check-in.
Seamless Face ID Check-in & Grand Lobby Atmosphere
The neoclassical lobby at Sheraton Phu Quoc is grand and spacious, featuring a high glass atrium that floods the interior with natural light. Comfortable sofas are scattered across the polished marble floor for guests to rest. For entertainment, the resort provides complimentary billiards and table tennis tables in the lobby, which are very popular among guests waiting for check-in.
The check-in process is efficient. The receptionists register guest facial profiles for the Face ID gate system. Once registered, you can enter neighboring VinWonders and Vin Safari using automated face-scanning gates without carrying any physical cards or paper tickets.
The resort also provides up to 4 key cards per room, giving family members the freedom to explore the resort independently. Riding the glass-walled panoramic elevator to the guest floors offers a wonderful view of the entire lobby atrium, a delightful experience for kids.
Deluxe Ocean View Room Review & Accommodation Tips
Our 42 sqm Deluxe Ocean View room featured a warm neoclassical design with white, gray, and warm wood accents. The comfortable king-size bed with premium cotton linens ensured a restful sleep. In addition to modern air conditioning, the room is equipped with a classic ceiling fan, providing a gentle breeze for those who prefer natural air circulation.
The marble bathroom includes both a freestanding soaking bathtub and a glass-walled shower enclosure, fully stocked with toiletries and 3 sizes of soft towels. An iron and ironing board are provided in the wardrobe. The spacious balcony is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee while listening to the sound of the ocean.
Based on our stay, here are some useful room selection tips:
- EVEN-Numbered Rooms: Request even-numbered rooms for direct views of the central swimming pool and the ocean.
- ODD-Numbered Rooms: Request odd-numbered rooms for a quiet view facing the lush gardens and VinWonders' signature giant turtle aquarium.
Practical tip from Max Bui: Due to regional municipal pipe networks in North Phu Quoc, tap water can occasionally exhibit a slight yellow tint. If you are traveling with infants or have sensitive skin, we highly recommend bringing a portable shower head filter for extra peace of mind.
Massive Infinity Pool & Pristine Private Beach Experience
The highlight of Sheraton Phu Quoc is its massive beachside swimming pool. The adult pool ranges from 0.6m to 1.25m in depth, surrounded by coconut palms and sunbeds. Next to it is a 0.7m deep children's pool with a warm water jacuzzi. In the afternoon, a live DJ performs by the poolside, creating a vibrant holiday vibe.
The private sandy beach at Long Beach is clean and wide. The sea is shallow with calm waves, safe for swimming and beach games. Wooden swings are set up on the sand, perfect for watching the iconic sunset over the Gulf of Thailand.
The beach towel service is convenient. You do not need to bring towels from your room; simply read your room number at the beachside towel kiosk to get clean towels and water. The resort also features a Kids Club with indoor games, books, babysitting services, and an outdoor playground adjacent to the breakfast restaurant.
Diverse Dining Options & Local Seafood Recommendations
Dining at the resort is a delightful experience. Due to the high number of guests, Sheraton operates two main breakfast restaurants: Daily Social and Ramba & Grill.
We enjoyed our breakfast at Daily Social, which features a spacious indoor and outdoor beachfront dining area. The international buffet includes local specialties, fresh bakery items, a chocolate fountain, an ice cream station for kids, and morning white wine for adults. If you prefer Indian flavors, Ramba & Grill serves authentic curries and tandoori dishes.
To travel to Grand World or VinWonders, you can use the resort's free shuttle buses, which run every 30 minutes from 8:30 AM to midnight. Grand World is huge, so we recommend renting a self-driving electric scooter for about $2.5 per hour to explore the colorful Venice canal area easily.
Budget dining tip from Max Bui: Hotel dining can be expensive for lunch and dinner. To enjoy authentic local food at reasonable rates, take a short drive to Oc Dem Com Bau in Ganh Dau village.
Oc Dem Com Bau is a popular local restaurant offering fresh seafood from $2 to $5 per plate. Service is fast and friendly. We recommend trying their frog fried with fish sauce, seafood fried rice, salted egg snail, fresh jellyfish salad, and salted-chili snail. Enjoying these dishes with a cold local Vina Beer is a fantastic local dining experience.
Optimal Airport Transfer & Island Exploration Solution
Phu Quoc Island offers a 30-day visa exemption for international travelers arriving on direct flights, making it a convenient destination. However, due to its remote location in the North, traveling to Duong Dong town or Nam Island (for the Hon Thom cable car) by regular taxi can be expensive (ranging from $16 to $20 one-way) and difficult during peak holidays.
To secure your transportation budget and travel comfortably, we highly recommend booking private transfers and tour charters with MGM Phu Quoc in advance. With our premium fleet of 7-seaters and 16-seater Ford Transits driven by polite, local chauffeurs, MGM ensures a safe, relaxing, and hassle-free stay.
